Its kinda darker greybrownish with dark brown spots

Just edited my post, I think possibly the first species I mentioned, not the second.

looking at pictures nothing looks like mine :( are patterns that varied?

Hmm, you looked at Pterygoplichthys Gibbiceps?

the fins on mine dont look long enough to be that kind.... but the pattern fits...

My first thought was a stressed/pale Pterygoplichthys Gibbiceps. The first is a bristlenose. I'm fairly certain about my assumptions. The chances of them being something else are just too low.

If it has more than 10 rays on the dorsal fin, then it's from the Pterygoplichthys family, most of them grow big although some of them still acceptable. Question is which kind, but some of them are hybrids so not easy to identify. The patterns can vary even if the same kind.

I'd say he's definitely from the Pterygoplichthys family... But as has been stated, which one? :/ When I first saw the first picture of him I actually thought of the Peckoltia Feldbergae but after seeing a closer picture of him his head is the wrong shape and his colours are wrong.

It maybe his particular colouring. When mine was younger he was lighter in colour. Good water quality, good food and a place to hang on, and he should be fine. Not sure if you have some driftwood, but both plecos will like grazing on it.

I might look into driftwood. I have a very hard time keeping live plants in the tank... I get a whole bunch at a time, and still, within a week theyre all gone... my fish eat them all.... maybe wood will be a better alternative

See when I had my Gibby he was still at least light brown when younger, now he's a big dark brown spotty fish XD I don't have him any more but I have a picture of him here. This was mine at about 4" long.

Someone might correct me on this but I was under the impression that plecs need driftwood to graze on on order to aid digestion.

Only certain ones. All pleco's appreciate bogwood(driftwood is usually no good) but only certain actually need it to aid digestion

And it completely depends entirely on who would have the time to cross 2 species of pleco.
