Well, without getting lost in the sand dunes of time -- I used to never keep guppies alive. I'm embarrassed to admit it because I am a pretty experienced fish keeper, but in my younger years I'd try and try to keep guppies alive and they'd last a few months at most. Because of this, I am sorely lacking in my understanding of terminology to describe coloration and types of tails etc.

I had a female guppy give birth to about 6 surviving fry - bought her as a "assorted fancy guppy" from the LFS. I was under the impression that she was not from a purebred lineage. She does have a beautiful red tail, but I would think that she was not kept in a tank with males of similar genetic makeup. I think I was wrong.

Of her 6 surviving fry, 5 are male and are mature. They are all identical and I think rather pretty - so I'm hoping that someone could ID this strain of guppy for me.

They're blonde tuxedo reds. So, blonde based. For there are also grey based tuxedo reds. This is a commercial guppy strain.
