One of my 4 female guppies just had her first litter i guess you call it. We have around 25 fry in the main tank and i am feeding them powdered flakes. I'm very shocked at how well they're surviving. The adult fish have no chance to eat the fry because the fry are remarkably quick. Just thought i'd share that, it's all pretty exciting. If anyone has suggestions on what to do with ALL this fry i'm open to it because i obviously can't keep them all. I also have two male guppies, 2 female mollies and 3 corys

Batch of fry might be more of a correct term :p
I suppose when they are big enough you could give them to the LFS. Otherwise get a larger tank for them :p

If you plan on keeping any you first need to remove them from the main tank as they most certainly be gobbled up by the adults

And then the choice is yours as to what you wish to do

Your lfs may take them off you or you may have friends, family or neighbours that will take them??

Congrats btw it's a great feeling when you find them I have 5 in a separate tank atm they are approx. 2-3 weeks old and growing fast

When you say "lfs", does it mean like a PetSmart? or is it a private business that isn't a chain. Because the only private fish shop around me doesn't even carry guppies. Only the PetSmart does

It would usually your local small shop that would take them you can ask in the big chains but in the UK they wont accept from home breeders I have to take mine to the small ones

You should ask your local anyway if they don't have any they may gladly take them from you

I'll definitely look into that. Is it okay to leave some of the fry in there with their parents? or when they grow into adulthood will they inbreed?

If you put them back in they will most certainly inbreed they do not care where the female came from just as long as she is not already pregnant

They should be ok though if that's what you wanted to do but I wouldn't try putting inbred fry in with them as well as multi inbreeding can lead to deformities

Maybe they would want to..theres a local fish shop around here that takes fry and fish people dont want, and he orders too but there is always a variety.
