2 of my guppies are pregnant, one becoming really fat, the other only a little larger than before.

i tend to keep all of the fry alive, however my tanks not big enough to home them all, and i dont want them to be destroyed by beano (my albino corydoras.)

can any 1 give me some advice on what to do with them once theyre alive

thank you

why dont u leave the fry in the tank that will control how many you get. or take them to your lfs or thry and sell them

You can't take them too the shop until they have coloured up and are approaching adult size which takes 3 months. They will over stock their own tank if left to grow, let nature take its course and the weak get eaten and the strong survive. I put my excess guppy fry in the pond to fend with the goldfish, strangely I rarely see them again after that, i also have a couple of tubs outside which are no filtered or heated but have lots of elodea and are in the sun all day I sometimes chuck the fry in their, my 5 gallon bucket has no plants only algae and live food cultivating with 10 guppy fry which are big and strong on the high protein diet they seem to be developing faster then the ones inside.

ps. corydoras should be kept in groups of 4+ not single's

Edit: speak of the devil and he shall appear just wandered out to the pond to scoop out the leaves that had fallen in and there was a shoal of 30+ guppies swimming happly along the surface.

haha nice saltynay, and thx to both of u, and btw is lfs local fish shop ?

thanks

i had platy fry, and let them be, 9 got large for fry, then all went in the same night, does any 1 no wat could of happned ?

what do you mean what happened to the fry
coz i thought u ment what happened to the pregnant fish

the fish had like 50 fry, 9 survived and started to look like fish, then they were all gone overnight... i have no idea what happned

 the filter ! they were too big to be eaten by anything in my tank at the time

You'd be surprised what some fish can fit into their mouthes sometimes.

But if they weren't eaten then they either died, or were sucked into the filter.

I've had it happen before. :(
