Hi again :)

Decided to put a separate thread for my guppy fry.

I will give a bit of background first. I have 3 female guppy, the male got killed accidentally. The blonde one was pregnant when I got her and I managed to save 4 of the fry(3 blonde males and 1 grey female). Anyhow, the mother is a tequila sunrise blonde guppy. I thought the babies would turn out similar to tequila sunrise, but they are developing rather strange colors now.

The fry are 7 weeks old now. One of the males has a red round very dark metallic orange color with metallic multicolor body. The other two are rather identical and also have metallic multicolour body, but their tails have more green/yellow with a bit of red, but also developing a bottom sword that extends further than the tail.

I have the awfull feeling their father is an endler, or I don't know what type of guppy looks like this?
They don't have any black dots/bars like endlers I have seen though, and the tails are fully coloured, not see through.

On the video below you can see them with the rest of the fry I have. They are the oldest/reddish ones. Rest are 4 weeks and less and are from different females mostly.

The question whether the father is a guppy or an endler has been bugging me for a while now. What do you think?

Sorry for the noisy background. Please turn off prior to watching the video!!! :) It's more visible in full screen.

This is a video of the mothers:

Has the female been kept with an endler male recently?

Has the female been kept with an endler male recently?

Not while with me, but who knows what she was kept with previously? She was bought from a tank with female guppies from what I can remember.
And I went to the same shop recently to check if they had endlers and they did, in the female guppy tank as well!!! They don't look like my fry though, a lot of black on them.
I have another 2 generations of fry from her, hopefully the father is my guppy male instead. They do look very nice though I must say. I just prefer when I buy guppies, to actually get guppies :)

Anyway, just to clarify on the "multicolour" bodies which may not be very visible in the video. They have electric green, metallic light blue and a couple of red dots on their body so far.

I am wondering, are there blonde endlers?

Guppies can store sperm, so if she was in with male guppies, then the fry could be from that mating, only time will tell.
I haven't seen blonde endlers, but maybe someone else has

I'm seeing two males that look very Endlers-like to me. What a bummer, now your guppies are all mixed up! Happened to me as a kid. I put some really nice Green Cobra Guppies from private stock in with a male common guppy, oops! Took me forever to straighten the line back out.

The both males look very much like guppy/endler hybrids to me. They look very similar to my guppy endler males I had when I crossed a yellow female guppy with a male black bar endler.

Well...it seems they probably are endler/guppy hybrids :grr:

There are 3 of them by the way, just two of them are nearly identical. You can see 3 of them together at the very end of the video in the right top corner.

The question is if the rest two batches from her are from my male or the previous mating with the endler. She was in the tank with my male when she gave birth to these and he was all over her. What are the chances they are his? They are not grown yet, so I can't tell by the colours. There were 5 blonde and 5 grey fry that I saved from the second batch and 2 blonde ones from the third. Father was half black yellow tuxedo alike/or half black pastel.

Is that the maximum size endlers grow then? They are 7 weeks old now, but am presuming they will stay a lot smaller than a regular guppy male? And did your hybrids inherit black on them?

That's pretty much the max size for them. My males were yellow/orange with some metalic markings on the body. They had no black markings on them.

The males in the fry video look like typical young guppies. As they mature their fins and coloring will develop more fully. There is nothing resembling an endler about them at all.

Thanks everyone.
I guess time will tell whether these are endler hybrids or guppies. I will post a video in a few weeks again.
I have a tiny bit of hope that they are guppies, because I was thinking it is kind of too quick for endlers to reach their size in 7 weeks time? Also, in one of the local fish shops they had young male guppies for sale and they were the same size as my 7 weeks old, just normal guppy colors though.
However, my males do look a bit like endlers at this age enough to raise a suspicion. I'll see what comes out and I'll keep you posted

Thanks again for your replies.

One of the supposed guppy/endler hybrids is kind of sick now, refuses to eat, but that's on a different thread.
I managed to get a picture of them, which is not great but shows the colours.
Picture is from yesterday and at the moment you can see one has a bottom sword tail and the other spade/heart shaped tail.
How is this genetically possible as they are brothers I don't know. I noticed the gonopodium of one of them and it has a split at the very end. After googling a bit, endlers seem to have this type of gonopodium. But to be honest, never stared that much at a guppy's gonopodium to make the difference

Anyway, here is the best of the horrible pictures I took:

Just an update.
These do seem to be endler-hybrids as they haven't really grown since and the other batches of males born minimum 3 weeks after them, have them well outgrown in lenght.
Strange though that the endler-hybrids got their gonopodium really fast, like 3 weeks old maybe? Unless they are stunted maybe?

I'll post a video soon

I got a picture for comparison. It's hard to take one, as they think I am going to feed them.
So one of the hybrids is on the top right side(yellow-red fry) and one of the pure guppy fry is below. In reallity they have a tail difference in lenght:

On the picture below you can see on the left one of my deformed male guppy(blonde colourless one). This topic is covered in another thread. They are not growing as fast as the rest of the fry, but are healthy.

The male guppy fry in the middle, with the black body and yellow tail, has lovely black side fins. The pictures wash out the colours of all of them, but couldn't get any better ones.
