Hi

I was wondering what to stock my 20 gallon (60cm x 30cm x 35cm) guppy tank that would keep the numbers down?
I was thinking like a nice African killie? Or Panchax?

Thanks

Well i think it's entirely your taste, i imagine the majority of fish that are bigger will eat them, but i'm no expert.

I personally do breed guppies, so if i've ever got to 'cut back' should we say, i place a dwarf gourami in the breeder tank., saying that i've seen even black widow tetras eat guppy fry.

Just depends what you want!

Would lake Ktubu rainbows or anby other other larger species of rainbow be suitable? any suggestions as to your favourite population controler? (hehehehe)

Killifish are agressive or semi agressive fish at best so don't put any in with the guppys as it will most likely attack the adults as well as eat their fry. For population control the best thing would be to cull any fry you don't want (of course using an accepted humane form of euthanasia).

livebares will increase your tank stock by alot so i would be carefull how many you get

thanks

why dont u go for just male guppies thats what i have done in the past as they wont breed, and they do get on well!!

My personal experience is that angel fish and neon tetras devour fry up very quick. Otherwise euthanasia i feel.

I think you will find unless you have cover for them that the parents will take care of most of them....

Surely angels would be too agressive, and possibly grow too large. A pair or single if i was to go for them, which would you think? Thanks for all the responses :)
