hi
ok so i have a 50 g
just put
1 common plec & 3 scissors tail ( & will be getting 3 more at weekend )
i also hope to get 6 angels to put in the tank

i have 4 3-4 months old male guppies which i would also like to move into the tank

my question is this
will the 4 3-4 months old guppies be ok with angels or should i walt until the guppies are older before i move them in to the 50 g with the angels & other fish

To be honest I wouldn't adivse keeping angels and guppies together, the angel will attack the guppies.

 The Guppies may not have much finnage if kept in that tank. It's possible they won't attack them, but do you really want to risk it?

The only possible way I would keep guppies with angels is if the guppies are full grown. I have feeder guppies that no fish in my tank will touch. It is quite funny actually, they go on like there is no problem except the male guppies

i kept guppies and angel fish together once

5 angles and 6 guppies 2 male 4 female

all i gotta say is i still have 6 guppies and i only have 2 angels

:(

if ur guppies come from the same place mine did then u better hope u have some tough angels

angels are nippy fish they will haste the guppys untill the guppys get stressed and sucombe to some disease

Angels, being cichlids, have individual personalities. Some are placid & tolerant of nearly anything, others will try to beat on any other living thing in the tank, including your hand. I could see a more laid back angel getting nipped & stressed to death by guppies. I could also see an angel with aggression issues taking out a number of guppies in a day. Either way you will never have to worry about guppy fry, they will be a quick snack for any angel.

If you want to try it, keep a divider handy, and make sure you have a place to rehome either the guppies or angels.

My angels are fine with the guppies in fact I have 7week old baby guppies in there and they are fine. It depends on the fish's personalitys.

I have a pair of angels and 6 guppies in my tank and so far they seem to get on fine.

However, the angels are still fairly young so are far from fully grown. I am going to have to watch them as they get bigger and I would be worried for the safety of any guppy fry in there with the angels too.

My angels are large, one as big as a full grown man's hand. They are fine with full grown guppies but go cracy when there are babies. Bad things happen when babies are around, they chase them around and get stuck in ornaments so you don't want any baby guppies when there are ornaments they can get stuck in.

My angel got stuck in an ornament going after a baby and took me half an hour to get him out. And make sure you have more than one guppy other wise they get stressed out and die

do you think that my angels will be ok coz they are only young ones
or are the guppies to young

What are your tank occupants and size. As long as you have enough guppies and they aren't so small that they fit in your angels mouth and the angels have a place where they can call there own (territory) and the guppies still have room to swim I think they will be ok.

I currently have an angelfish that is fully grown with guppies platies and other livebearers. I have had him in there over 1 year almost 2 years. I have not had any problems with any of my fish having nipped fins. My angelfish is very docile I think he is more preoccupied with the heater and filter rather then other fish .

To make your angels get along with guppies when they've reached full size:

Put the angelfish in a separate tank for 6 months by themselves. They will loose their behavior to eat small fish , nip or chase fish. After 6 months put them back in the tank. You will notice they will have a tendency to stay with other angelfish This psychologically changes their behavior towards other fish. I've tried this with my angelfish and everything is fine. I have 8cm (and over) sized angelfish with guppies 2cm. Thy all get along fine. Although your guppies will be afraid of them first but a week or so later they wont even care if an angelfish is close to them.
However i would advise you not to let your guppies drop fry in the tank otherwise the angelfish will gain back the habit to eat the guppies and eat all small guppies. If their ant any fry, the angelfish wont do a thing.
