I have 4 mickey mouse platies 3 female, 1 male and I went to get some guppies from lfs yesterday.
I ended up getting all male, they are so much more colourful! I thought they would be ok being in an all same sex group but watching them last night, they keep going for my female platies.
Will this stop or will they keep harrassing them because they don't have any females of their own.
I don't want my female platies getting stressed, I know one of them is pregnant!
Will the lfs let me change three males for females, has anyone else changed fish before?
I got them from the world of water.

20g uk tank

4 mickey mouse platy 3f/1m
4 guppies 4m

Any idea what the name of these are? or are they just fancy guppies?
Thanks

Knowing male Guppies, they may keep going for the Platies. They are mating machines. Do you have another tank you could seperate them to? If not....you can try to exchange them. It's going to depend on the fish store, as to what they'll let you do. You might want to call and ask, or go to the store before you bag up the fish and tank them in though! Good luck!

I phoned the fish shop and they said it was ok to change them. They only had two females left so I got an orange mickey mouse platty female as well. Heres a pic of my pregnant platty. You cant really see the dark spot, I find it easiest to see at night time when the house lights are out and just the fish lights are on. The light then shines through her belly and I can see lots of little dots (the eyes I assume).
