gravid spots in fry

I had this happen a long time ago, so I know it is possible......but when exactly do guppies have the ability to have babies? I have guppy fry about a month old and I am already able to tell which are boys and which are girls 'cause I can see gravid spots! I remember a long time ago, I had a baby fry have tiny tiny (on accident, didn't know she was prego since she was so small!) babies.......which took forever to grow up since they were so small to begin with.....I am talking the size of the head of a straight pin..............little little. It seems as though they are "born pregnant"!

They can start getting pregnant at as young as 4 months. Mine just had her second drop of 5,the first drop was only 2. She's 5 months old now,the only female I had left from my wild guppy drop. She isn't big at all,but she got pregnat right away at 4 months. lol

They recommend not breeding gups until 6 months of age,but sometimes you can't help it. I have 5 new babies in my already cram packed growout tank.

IT COULD BE THAT YOU ARE SEEING THEIR ORGANS B-CUZ YOU KNOW HOW THEY ARE SEETHROUGH!!!

seeing the gravid spots in 3 -4 wk old fry doesn't mean that they're pregnant Olive - at that age the gravid spot is usually clear and is just one more way to be able to tell which sex the fry are.

That's one of the main ways I sort out which are male/female. When I've put them into separate grow out tanks the females don't have babies unless I mistakenly put a baby male in the tank with them. Unless separated mine start to breed at about 3 1/2 months.

Looks like sex ed should be a requirement for guppy fry.

yah u are prob seeign the inseide of the guppys , and i think your small litle fry is alge paricles or little flake food or soemthign eles flaotying in your tank

What do gravid spots look like. I have 2 swordtail fry in a breeding net that are about 4 weeks old. One is a lot fatter than the other. One is all orange the other is orange with a black spot at the base of its tail - is this a gravid spot? If so, is it the boys or the girls that have one...?
