got my first dt

i just got my first dt and a female, i dont know what kind of female though, cause this shop isnt so great. its the first time ive seen a dt thats not a picture. they look better in real life than they do in pictures. what color are these betta? there was a dt with red fins with blue border, would this be a rare color? sorry for the bad pics.

I'm always fascinated by DT's, I have two 3 and a half week old DT's in a recent spawn and it's great watching them grow. I find it interesting how DT's fins are symetrical straight down the middle whereas all the other fin shapes have a different dorsal fin. Gives DT's this really unique shape.

The female is very nice too, looks a lot like the mother of my spawn!

the 1st and 2nd are without flash, so im guessing thats the real color. i hope shes a delta. the female seems kinda fat. doesnt look like she has dropsy though, whats going on?

Edit: i know this sounds stupid, but 5 minutes after they were put into a bigger container and fed, their colors darkened. when the guy bagged, them, they were pale, now they are dark blue-green.

The color on that pair is fabulous! Plan on spawning? I have a delta female that looks just like that. good find!

i just got them today, maybe i can clear out my worm tank and use it as a breeding tank. i still cant find any java moss. are there any other plants that are useful for breeding?

I can't find any java moss either, but I used hornwort in my breeding tank and it did the trick just as well

what are the average size for betta? mine is about 1.25" from the base of the tail to its mouth. i want to buy some more, cause these are the only healthy betta ive seen, and im afraid they arent going to be so healthy in about a week

wow, just after about 8 hours, both of them have changed alot. they have like rainbow colors. ive just spent the last hour taking pictures, so they shouldnt be that bad.

what color is a blue bordered fin with red inside?

SCHWEET! my female betta has vertical stripes. does this mean shes ready to breed? how do i know if my male is ready? ill post some pics in a few minutes
