Got crabs?

My daughter and son-in-law bought my granddaughter Kaila two Hermit Crabs on Sunday. She has named them Cindy and Hannah, however, being named by a three year old means their names could change at any time. *lol* She calls the purple one the mommy one and the blue one the baby one.

The one in the purple shell is actually quite smaller. She (only because its easier this way) is shy and doesn't come out of her shell. The other one will. There is a pretty brown shell in their setup for this one to go into as she should be ready for a bigger one soon.

How long do they need to change to a bigger shell? Heard they'll climb in a miniature coke can if there's no alternative

Nice hermit crabs, make sure to supply them with old shells or they'll die as I'm sure you know!

Feline: They switch shells when they have outgrown their current one, usually every 6-12 months. The purple one is in a new shell. She's pretty small. It will probably last her a year.

William: Yea, I know hon. If you look in the lower right corner of the second picture, you'll see a beige shell. This is for the blue one. She'll be ready to switch soon.

I'm really falling in love with them. Will have to get my own I think. NOT. Well, maybe one day.
