Oh, ninj. Niiiiiinj. I think they are wonderful! Seriouslyfish says they'd be good with Cardina and Neocardina shrimp. Apparently they prey on inverts in the wild, but the shrimp I'm looking into won't get eaten, I think. These are a strong contender.

Glad you like them! It seems they come in yellow and blue..I wanted the blue kind but ended up with yellow. Still very lovely and fun to watch the males spar. Hopefully if you do get them they work out with the shrimp

is a vid of mine that has them in it. I think there is sparring but can't remember.

Oh if only I had a house made of aquariums.

I don't know if I'll get them or not. They're a bit pricey on aquabid. If I can find a good deal on them, I'll totally take them. :D

Side note: Anyone know about crayfish? I'd like to get one eventually, and I know they won't fit in this tank (because of space and because I'll have little fish), but I'm curious about them.

I got them at my LFS, I don't remember how much they were unfortunately! I don't know anything about crayfish :C

There are two sellers right now on AquaBid, but the issue is that one of them is from Taiwan, so I'd have to deal with trans shipping which is very costly. The other one is Wet Spot which is much cheaper in the realm of shipping, but they've also got 10 for 35.00, which isn't a bad deal, but with shipping that's a little more than I want to spend. My LFS may be able to get them for me though.

Crayfish are cool but they are very deadly predators and could easily wipe your   tank clean of inhabitants. You are interested in reptiles? Why not look into amphibians? Fire bellied newts (Chinese or Japanese) or even an axolotl would do ok in a ten gallon. They are fully aquatic and will use the same dish equipment you have. You'll just have to feed them worms though. I have a ten gallon with breeding red cherry shrimp, snails and 3 Chinese fire bellied newts living in it

Yeah I figured the crayfish wouldn't be a good fit. Maybe I'll try a species tank or them someday. I never thought about amphibians. I assumed they would all need a paludarium. But the fire bellies is a good idea. Thanks!
