I think I'm going to actually hold off on getting another fish for a while.
Amos is near death now and it's really really hard.

I'd want to get another one like him, but couldn't stand to get another one like him.
And right now I feel like the most horrible betta mother on the PLANET because it's my fault that Amos is dying.

Its not your fault. You didn't know the current would be too much. You did the best thing you could by upgrading him to a bigger tank. Cheer up!

It's whose fault that he's doing poorly? It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he's rotted in his cup his entire life alongside being extremely malnourished,right?

I see I haven't updated this topic in a while.
Last Friday, I arrived at work and found that Amos had passed away.

Since then, i took a cruise through WalMart and I already have a HUGE chip on my shoulder with that place. I found another sicky and brought him home. He looks very much like Amos so it was some comfort to me to know that I now have another little guy to love and pay attention to.

His fins were really rotting, shredded and have several holes in them. He had lots of cottony lumps on him and he's got black crap in between his scales. His belly's pretty puffy too. These pictures make him look much better than he really is - you can't see the cottony junk all over him and his fins are pretty clamped up here...But anyway,
