I've had my new betta a matter of days (a veil tail) and he is eating his worms and blowing himself a little bubble nest so I'm chuffed to bits so far. He is also very adept at squeezing into small spaces to eyeball my ADFs, who eyeball him right back! When I first put him in he landed on an ADF which then went for him and he has been cautiously curious ever since!

cool-my roundtail lives in a 10 gal. decorated so nice with plants and rocks, he is hyperactive hyperdrive, and vibrant, but he's only attempted a few bubbles and quits. i want him to make bubbles! :D

Im not quite sure what the phrased "I'm chuffed to bits" means though.
I think it's similar to "thrilled to pieces". :D

Slyspy, are you from Pompey? Or Gosport, I can't remember. If you are, where did you get your ADF's from? I've been looking everywhere.

"Chuffed to bits" does equate to "thrilled to pieces", two countries separated by a common language or slang at least!

My new idiot spent this morning trying to beat up his own reflection at the back of the tank so I replaced the dark background with white paper (its on the outside of the tank). Then he started seeing his reflection in the dark strip of plastic along the top of the tank, half of which is in the water. So I've tethered some floating plants along it. He seems to have calmed down now, but he scattered the nest everywhere! No more intelligent than the frogs it seems!

Oohfeeshy I am in the Gosport/Fareham area and was unable to find ADFs locally. Abbey Nurseries in Titchfield had some (its where I first saw them) but don't often have them. Funtley nurseries had albinio ACFs but no ADFs. In the end I ordered mine from trimar. The postage cost more than the frogs but it was worth it for my two numpties! You should have seen the size of the box they came in. About three foot square for two critters both about an inch long lol!
