Good Oddballes To Go With

hmmm... EELS!!!! eels are great and so friendly they can be hand fed! Peacock eels max out at 1 foot but i think you should get a fire eel!!! i personally think they look nicer and with that tank you defo have enough room for one (they max at about 3 feet)!! what is your substrate??

it ill probs be sand,I havnt even got the tank yet just in planning stages lol.Any other oddballs? arows?

If its sand then its perfect for eels! get a fire eel and if he isnt out and about, then his head and a section of his body will poke out of the sand since they love to bury there bodies sometimes!!! very friendly oddballs! Silver dollars arent oddballs but you can keep a group with your oscar! you can also put plecos, clown knife fish ( which is an oddball), or clown loaches.
Basically the oddballs are eels and clown knife fish.

hi could i have a black ghost, clown knife, oscar, a couple of plecos and maybe a couple of sevs?

I wouldnt go for a black ghost knife
I would be very surprised if your oscar wouldnt have a go at it

what about:

1 oscar
1 clown knife
2 sevs
2 plecos
and another oddball, what else would be good.Apart from a n eel.

you could get bichirs, lima shovelnoses, pictus and a few others.the thing is though u cant get a really delicate fish like some of these to go with oscars and sevs.sevs are know to be very very bitey and oscars will go on killing sprees

oscars are a hard one for tank mates there is so many that get bullyed and there is a few that will just not like anything else in the tank
as mark7616 says in your other topic he is just lucky they have got on well together but not everyfish is exactly the same
what ever you do check if your LFS can take some of your fish if it dosnt go to plan :good:

oscars are like a friendly giant so to speak nothing like convicts etc.

you can not expect everyfish to be alike.everything depends on the fish itself and not just the breed.take puffers for example.i own figure 8 puffers and recently added another one to the group who was as nasty as could be.had to take it back that day.
so what stocking r u looking at now?

i think sand will be to hard to keep clean with oscars

I 2nd that my 5x2x2 had sand in it and with all the fish I keep it was a nightmare always looked crap so I put gravel in there

A few cleverly positioned powerheads and it's no problem. I have sand in my 150 with an adult Oscar, adult JD, 4 adult Bala's and several Plecs and I hardly ever have to vac the sand. :D
