In my 30L biOrb, I'd love to put in a male betta, though I'd also like some other little fish to go in with him that he wouldn't attack or be attacked by. Maybe a shoal of some sort of tetra?
Thanks!

For a 30L tank with a Betta, I would recommend a shoal of Green Neon Tetras (Paracheirodon simulans) Don't get the larger Paracheirodon innesi (Neon Tetra)or Paracheirodon axelrodi (Cardinal Tetra) Is there a heater in your tank?

Yes, there's a heater in there.
What's the difference from Green Neons to regular neons?

And sorry to go a off topic, but are neons usually aggressive? It's just I bought a shoal of 6, and 1 of them killed the other 5, and he's now attacking some of the other fish in my tank. I'm planning to take him out, but isn't this strange behaviour for a neon?

Going back. Try to mix the betta with short tailed fish as there less likely to attack. Glad to see you have a biorb. I have a biube. :good:

Pygmy Cories are good if you can get hold of them :good:

I love cories, but I don't think they'd suit the bits of rock that you need in a biOrb. It doesn't allow you to put anything else in and I don't think there's anything else I can cover them with. :(

Short finned fish were what I was thinking of, but I know that a lot of tetras can be pretty nippy, which is obviously what I'd like to avoid!
Ahaa, my biOrb really does annoy me. Really tricky to see my fish, which really worries me right now since I have an aggressive neon attacking all the baby fish -.- I love biUbes though. I think they're much prettier

Thanks. For the ceramic media ( which is annoying ) I used 3 packs of feing shu pebbles. ( Don't know the correct spelling). They will cover them up. I am going to get some Otos catfish this weekend but they are not entirely bottom feeders. Anyway good luck. :good:

P.S The 3 packs is for the biube might be 2 for the biorb 30. Check with the LFS.

Ahh. I'm using the few Feng Shui pebbles I have in there now just as anchors for the plants. Maybe I could try and get some smaller pebbles to mix in with it too?
Thank youu! :)

Good idea. I have white ones. Covered with algae for the otos to graze on!

Ahh, I have some white ones too, though unfortunately none of the fish in my tank are really interested in nibbling the algae off them for me!

Harlequin Rasboras are nice and make great community tank fish. They look great when they swim together too!

I do love Harlequins. My mum does too, and the biOrb will pretty much be her tank once I've moved my fish into mine, so that's good news for her!

No...tetras will generally be too nippy on fins - any variety.

corys or otos are your safest bet.

I'm running two baby biorbs one homes zeek my blue betta and the other homes 5 danios, biorbs are nice I think they look pretty good but I find they are quite restricting with what you can do in them and find the bubbles in the middle a bit annoying! Tempted to try convert it to sand with a new filter one day.
But I got sick of the look of the biorb media they recommend, and I understand why it is better but I replaced it with nice smooth black pebbles and its been fine! And looks so much nicer!
I would love to get a biube pure and maybe a larger 30litre biorb someday!

Ahh. I've now got a new 64L tank. The 30L was just not big enough for what I wanted!
I still have it, but now it's in the kitchen.

I plan to put a male betta, a shoal of pure male endlers and some cories into my new 64L :D
