Gold Nugget Pleco Info L018

I am looking to get a larger tank. 55 Gal I want to get a nice pleco for it. I am thinking one large one like the Gold nugget. I saw 2 at my local Fish store they were babies only 4 inches but so cute. OR I would want to get another bristle nose and rubber nose.

So my question is are the gold nuggets active. or are they shy and hind a lot. Because what I love about my bristle nose is how active and fun she is to watch. But I think the gold nuggets are so pretty. Could I keep a Nugget with a rubber? Or would the small rubber get beat up?

IME, L018 is agressive to other plecs, and the only time you realy see it is when it sees another plec in "it's" patch and decides to see it off...

Planet catfish recons that L018's get to 14", but mine stayed at 6". A 14" fish is certainly too big for a 55g IMO, but 6" is a reasonable size Being a Byransistrus, this fish will need mostly a meaty diet of prawns, muscle, bloodworm e.t.c. There is a distinct risk of them latching to large sided fish (like Discus and Angels, mine latched to my Discus and hence I had to get shot of it fast )

They are territoriality and aggressive to own kind. Other plecs should be find if you have enough floorspace and break up line of sight ec. Just avoid other plecs that look like the GN
