Juwel tanks are great for planted tanks thats the market there aimed at.
The reason people say to add extra filtration is because they have a lower turnover rate to allow for the plants,

Buying second hand is a good idea although its tricky finding exactly what you want. i have been waiting to see a 4x2x2 tank for ages now,

Will a hang on the back filter work on a juwell? I am a large advocate of external filters, but 35 gallons could easily be handled by a good HOB filter.

gl, have not got the tank yet, but do want it to be close to the wall. If I do get an external i'll pop it in the stand. My only worry bout an underground is you can't see what its doing and I'm a big gravel cleaner.
