I'll shortly be getting a jewel vision 180. I plan to plant it and was wondering about filters. It comes with an internal filter and it was suggested that I lay a 3' underground filter. This (should) improve the flow of water. Anybody have any suggestions?

undergravel filter i had one once nothing but trouble! external for me all the way!

so, you suggesting the included (internal) and splashing out on an external?

type - price?

juwel vision 180 ummmmm thats 91x 41 x 55 can i have those measurments in inches please!

just looking at the catalog i have nice tanks shame about the bases mdf it looks like.... mines mahogony solid bugger damm heavy tooo!

yup., agree it looks mdfy. I kinda like the tank and want the tank to shine - not the cabinet. newbie mistake?

oh, and I doo like the curved front

something like 36*17*20 (ish) 180ltrs =app 35galls?

bring back imperial !

was just looking for a pic of my cabinet but cant find it lol i know they do look tacky but it does the job. it must be 48x 15x18 inches i hate cm conversions *daft* um an external or a powerful internal should be ok
http://www.aquatics-online.co.uk/bigpics/atman.htm for pics and info! eheim ones are the same thing( they do the same range boxed square things) but have extra bit on top! they both do same job.

Thanks m8, if nobady van give me a good reason for getting underground (other than price) I may pop an external in the poorly made cabinet

i started with an underground, then had a fluval internal thingie then a external best move i made!

all the tanks in the jewel range come with an internal filter (I think its attached). But now you got me thinking. I had seen a couple of 2nd hand tanks/cabinets. I the guy whose selling it is smaller than me maybe I should upgrade but used?

maybe thats an option for ya! mine was hand built by my family about 15 years ago still going, and u can get a cheap 48 inch tank new they only 55 quid ish so a cabinet should not be much to find or knock up and a filter is 56-65 quid for it or u may find a setup going cheap all in!

I have room for a 48" but not on the wall I planned - I wanna be able to sit at my pc and look at the telly & fish at the same time  :D

wish i could pc and tv up here fishy down there! lol how big the tank u fancied?

36" - sheesh you not read the posts I take time to put up here?
