one of my lfs is closing at the weekend, which is a proper bummer because it was pretty good.

anyways, me and my cousin, who has a pretty good relationship with the owner, have an opportunity to buy up some stuff purely for the sake of selling on, at a profit obviously. or else it would be a waste of time. anything we come home with, that we dont want, i will firstly be putting on here, and then last resort ebay.

they have everything from filters, heaters, fluro tubes, food, wood, right up to big 2 grand tanks. everything will be minimum half price to us, more than likely even less than that.

thing is, we dont want to waste money buying stuff nobody wants and get left with a shed full of stuff we dont want or cant sell. its also got to be worth doing, as im going to be making lots of trips to the post office i imagine.

i can only really think of filters that people would really want, is there anything else it might be worth me bringing back ? theres an fx5 there brand new, a couple of massive nice bogwood pieces that need a very big tank to go in, brand new tanks of all sizes, meds, all sorts of stuff in bottles, some eheim aquacompact filters that i will almost definitely be bringing home, pretty much the whole range of aquael internal filters. some sunsun powerheads i saw aswell. lots of filter hose, mostly eheim. bogwood varying from the massive pieces mentioned to very small bits. wood always seems to sell well on here, or am i wrong ?

i dont want to take the mick too much and rock down there with a shopping list, but of the stuff ive mentioned if anybody wants anything in particular, i can get it or look for it. if you want a tank let me know what size and i'll see if theres one there. most of the tanks though are 'cheaper' brands. theres no juwels or anything like that. not until you start spending silly money. theres probably some marine stuff aswell, though id have no idea what im looking at. tanks will have to be collected though from east norfolk coast.

that is a tank from the shop that my parents brought. i dont know how big it is, what it cost or what make it is, but my watch is there for size comparison. im pretty sure they had a whole stack of these in the corner, all boxed up.

anyways, whats worth bringing back and what should be left.

Filters, heaters, bogwood, medications and/or test kits, maybe food, but the higher value stuff, like hikari etc, not just aquarian flake food!

If they have any eheim 2213's or tetratec EX1200 get me one!

I personally wouldnt bother getting tanks to sell on, unless you can get 10 gallon+ for less than £20!

dont think those filters are there. the shop has been slowly closing down for a couple of weeks, theres still some good stuff there, but i guess for a couple of months they started to drastically decrease what they were ordering into the shop, so its not like its still fully stocked. there are bucketfulls of heaters, new and secondhand.

It'd take popular electrical equipment and other dry goods that don't expire readily, I'd buy food, dechlorinator, I'd leave any fertilisers unless they're good brands and treatments however. I'd take tanks personally if they are popular brands, kits are very popular.

they had a lot of new era fish food, thats good stuff isnt it ?

Yes, I can't say it's the most popular brand in the world but there's a market for it.

ahh right, well i'll have a look round. they always had tetra food in there, which i use. they had a few smallish bottle of flourish excel, whole range of interpet meds and plant food. what about lighting ballast with bulb endcaps on them ?

they also had a range of aquael neoheaters. they looked pretty nifty might get some.

where abouts in the country are you? Because if you could get hold of a cheap 180 - 250 litre or so tank on the cheap i would have one. not arsed about branding the cheaper the better as long as it looks presentable! And tesk kits, i could do with a good test kit!

Is there any tank stands? I need one for my 90l cube tank, would be interested in an api marine test kit, esha plant foods and meds if any available? if not depending on the price I might be interested in the interpet ones, I take it everything will be in date? any marine foods would also be welcome :good:

sorry no tetratec filters. pretty sure the only decent sized one left there was the fx5.

EX1EY im in norfolk, so unfortunately pretty far away from manchester. ill look for test kits, cant say i saw any while i was browsing. there was lots of stuff just chucked in boxes though, didnt know where to look was too excited by cheap stuff

betta fish - marine isnt something i know much about. some of the new era food i mentioned earlier looked like it had marine fish on the packaging. there wernt any massive tubs, looking on ebay i think they were mostly of the sort of 30-50g size i guess. i didnt look too closely at it. i can only assume everything will be in date, as the shop is still open until saturday, i will check though. dry foods, as suggested above, will probably be something we get a lot of.

price wise, i can only say at this point it wont be as expensive as the shops/ebay. or else there wouldnt be much point. how cheap it is depends on what sort of deal we get from the shop.

Oh man I wish there was an LFS closing round here. I could do with so much. Why are tanks so #41#### expensive?!

are they those glass things that co2 kits use ? that look like lily's  i doubt there will be, but i'll keep an eye out. im considering suggesting to my mate buying a few tanks, and putting together our own starter kits with the aquael filters and a heater.
