im in the process of changing my substrate right now and was given a really good idea...change it out about a 1/4 at a time.....put something in thr gravel to keep it seperated and remove 1/4 and then add the new stuff to the hole...do about a 1/4 a week and you should be fine...i have done a 1/4 of mine and none of my h2o parameters changed ...Ill give an update after i do the next bit this sat.....
