So, I just got back from one of the 4 fish stores I went to today to find "bettamax"
ahem....didn't find any, so got pimafix instead....but that is beside the point I am trying to make here.....I don't know if you have seen the "glowfish" around...the danios. I saw them for the first time today....and this post is not to say whether I am for or against them....but I was just wondering if, in your country the government has siezed them? There was a big piece of paper hanging from the front of the tank and it said that the fish were not to be even touched by the staff of the store, or else the consequence was a $300,000 fine.....Pretty crazy if you ask me!!! So it looks like the Canadian Government is not a big fan of these fish for some reason.

Chris

That seems odd. So how did the fish get there then if the staff isn't allowed to touch them? (stupid I know...lol)

well chris as of this past weekend they were still for sale in the USA,well Phoenixx AZ anyways. Unfortunately I say ban them all....

i would guess the note was placed ther after the fish were already there

i don't see how you can patent a fish.

maybe i'll patent my baby guppies, then you can't go copying them... or something  :look:

Well, I guess Canada is the only place then

i think the scientists who made them finally found a glitch and prolly will infect your fish or sumtin lol jkjk

im pretty sure the fish dont work without a blacklight or thats what ive heard so i dont really think they glow and when angry people come back saying my glowfish isnt glowing theyll probally have a problem in their hands

So they are there for "decorations" purposes in the store? Wonder how much they cost?!
No they were not there for decoration....the sign was hanging right in front of the tank, so that you could barely see in.......kinda weird. :/

That's right. If you want your glofish to actually "glow," you'll need to get a black light. Also, constant exposure to a black light can be very dangerous, if you constantly leave it on.

That was a good article. I'm very interested in the whole glofish debate. I was contemplating getting some, but seeing as they are banned here..I guess not.

They are banned from being sold in California, but if you buy them across the border, there's no law against bringing them in and putting them in your tank. You just can't sell them.

:fish:

sorry to say, the fish in that pic were beautiful,
woah, hey i wonder how the feed them :D
so theyre just gonna wait till theyre dead? :-(
