Hey

Call Me strange but been Emptying the Secondary Fridge for Asain Cooking Produce in the Consevatory, It Broke Down and Out of Warranty.

Mum Has taken 1 of the Glass Shelves to use as a Sink Splashback.

Now there are 2 Left.

1 is 1.5 Wide by 2 Foot Long by 5mm Thick and Frosted and Rippled.

AS these are designed to take alot of weight in the fridge. Used for Big 6 pint Milk Jugs.

Would this be Strong Enough to use as the Back Peice to the Tall Tank I want to Make.

The shelves in fridges will be toughened/tempered glass (glass which has been baked in a special furnace) You will not be able to cut this glass to size.

That Don't Matter.

I waned to have a Unique Backing. So I can Work around the Size of the Tempered Glass.

Pull the liner out of the old fridge, seal up the holes, use that for a tank!

No joke, one of the lfs owners filled his parent's basement with tanks made out of fridge liners when he was younger. I guess the basement got too small.

HAHA,

I actually Considered Doing that, But the Logistics of it are somewhat Daunting.

I think I will Stick to Using the Glass.

hehe a fridge tank?? i would lay the fridge on its back and line it with a fish safe tarp and make it a miny pond :) hehe of course take off the doors and put the filter in the freezer part and then i would ... well dig a hoel in my yard and lower the fridge into the hole and bada-bing bada-boom INSTAPOND!!

tempered glass is designed to shatter into thousands of little pieces if it is damaged, so if you hit the corner of it hard enough, the whole pane of glass will shatter. if you arent careful cutting it, you will end up with lots of little pieces of glass

Maybe not such a Good Idea then.

I guess Its Back to Ebay and Car Boots then.

Now I have Something New to Use my Fridge For.

Heh I wonder what My Wife is going to say when I remove the Food Tommarrow, Take the Door Off and Lay it in a Hole Out Back. :p

Well at least I'll have Something to Watch and Care for While I'm in MY DOGHOUSE I've Built for Myself Out Back... :hyper:
