just had some info, wont go into detail,

its been known that the person i got my betta simplex off has been known to have problems with gill parasites.

these seam to have it, no noticeable problems with them other then enflamed gills and rubbing on things and flicking.

there in a tank with anouther betta splenden female who so far doesent seam to have caught it,

also in the tank are assasin snails and ghost shrimp.

how best can i go about treating these fish for gill parasites?

How many gallons or litres is the tank.

There a med called wormer plus you can buy it online.
There also sterazin by waterlife.
Also with gill flukes you have to back up with a bacterial med.

The waterlife med fine in the link.
Just make sure it dosn't wipe the benefical bacteria out in the filter.

Anti internal bacteria med by interpet for a bacterial med.

excellent thanks for the help :good:

will turning up my temp in the tank for a while help too?

:/ 2 of them have started just sitting on the bottom of the tank not moving, they are still alive, but VERY still

now giving the worse one a quick salt bath.

I don't think you raise temp with gill flukes.

Read med instructions carefully as it would say to raise temp if you had too,.

Do the fish swim in a jerky movment as that a symtoms of flukes.
They could have a bacterial infection now with the gill flukes.
You need to add the med fast.

yes in the other side, divided. i have took all of the snails out that i can find, my ghost shrimp i cannot catch at all, been trying since 6am.

have gave the tank its first dose of waterlife white spot treatment as its the first thing that has arrived.

as i have managed to catch most of the assasin snails i had in the tank, there are in a clear fish bowl, will they be carrying the white spot at all?

Never kept snails so don't know much about them carrying whitespot.I would check in another part of the forum.

Whitespot won't survive without a host.
