I may be getting a guppy soon, and i will tell you the livebearers i already have. 1 male molly, 2 female mollies, 1 female platy, 3 female guppies, and 2 male guppies in the tank, but one of the male guppies is looking like he is getting old and is going to die soon. IF i do get a guppy, should i get a female or a male?
Thanks to anyone who replies.

I agree its best to get 2 Females for every 1 Male. But personnally i don't think 3 females to 2 males is such a bad number because i have that and there doesn't seem to be any problems. But any less than that and i would disagree.

well i know but i have to euthenize my tequila sunrise guppy. He is looking very unhealthy, and i dont want him to go through such a long painful death.

well, he is in fishy heaven now. I think i may get a male and a female. Depends on the cost of the particular guppy i am looking at. I am thinking about getting some blue guppies.

A male and female would make your guppy population perfect as it would be 2 females per a male. Thats probably your best bet. My only problem was if one of my female guppies died then i had to find a way to buy just 1-2 females instead of another male.
