Getting Good Photos Of Your Fish

I'v tried many times to get decent photos of my fish but i just can't, can any1 give any help or a run through of how to get them.
heres what most of mine look like:

They look green because of the plants or a bit yellow because of the lights and I loose all the fishes colour.
 
It may also help your photos if you have a plain background outside your tank [sponge bob?] Like a piece of black card say. Anything else makes the picture too busy and it's hard to actually see the fish. :good:
 
I find that setting iso. 400, use a flash, never take photo face on, always at an angle to avoid flash bounce-back. Also if you have macro setting and manual focus, try using that and touch lense on glass. Then focus on something in the tank and wait for a fish to pass that point, with a little practice you get good results. Finally. most basic editing programs alow you to crop etc...it's not cheating, honest! :shifty:

Here are some of my earlier attempts, not sure about the background on yours BTW.
No comparison on some in this forum though....I've seen some stunners!!
