Gave back my guppies

I gave my two guppies back to the lfs. I cryed, right in the store. I have no idea what came over me, but I did. The looked so happy in there, swimming with their friends. Poor Ember's tail was so bitten up though, that he really did need to be rehomed. 2 guppies with a big size difference (a half inch difference) can't live comfortably alone. Still, I hated to see them go. Just thought I'd update you though. I got another betta with my store credit, so my tank won't uncycle.

Aww...Its alright...I know how you feel, I've been terrible with guppies too...They just arent for the faint of heart I guess...I'm on my last, which is hanging by a thread I might add, I'm sure you picked a pretty betta though

i've never had much luck with guppies either. the longest one i had that lived was proably 2 months. after that i had two more, they died again, i'm never gettin guppies again.

Aw you really did cry? I know how you feel I lost my 3 year old Betta today

Yeah, I really did cry. ) not a lot, but it was so sad. I just hated to see them go, to an undecided fate. It sucked. I'm just a softie for animals. And I think it was just the fact that I didn't know where they might go that made me so upset.

Thanks for the support, though. I just couldn't stand watching the guppies suffer. But the betta is happy I did it.

Slightly off the topic but I cried when I left my dog at the vet for boarding recently. Probably because I went and looked at im after signing the papers and he howled when I walked away

As for guppies, I don't have that much luck with them either. I have manage to get them to breed and I have some beautiful fry right now but the ones I buy as adults don't last long for me

I'm sorry, orky. It sucks to have to give a fish back. I had to give my bala shark back because I wasn't sure I could upgrade tanks in time for him to move to a bigger tank when he needed it.

I have pretty good luck with guppies. My three have outlasted my swordie. They also gave birth to three babies that survived an ich treatment at one week of age. I suppose they're only about three months in my care right now, but they're doing well. They won't stop begging for food, though, the little monsters... *grin*

Marupials are mammals.. as far as I know.
I'm sorry you had to give your fishies away. I had to give back my danios as I thikn you know.. but I was glad that they were gone. What's your new betta's name? What colors?
I've had rather good luck with guppies- I got some to last a year.
