Gambit Ct X Tizzy Hm Spawn...

Hi...!

This is my first betta spawn Journal, hoping its the first of many...!

Male Gambit is a Crowntail, he is atleast a double ray. Originally from Thailand, but i was offered him buy another member . I dont know his Parents so that will be exciting and interesting when the fry eventually come.

Female Tizzy is a HalfMoon, 12 rays atleast. Brought from a betta breeder. Her parents were Black Orchids and she has a fiesty personality. She is a colour changer, from Royal Blue she has now got some red and gold tints to her head and tail.

Tank is 65L divided. So the actual spawning tank is 40L or so with some plants, a small sponge filter and a heater set to 28C. There friends in there will be 4 Apple Snails, though these will be removed prior to the spawn, as they might reck the nest. The nest is being built under bubble wrap which is placed under a feeding ring.
Gambit is already in the spawning tank to gain his terratory, and tizzy is on the other side. Both have adequate Indian Almond Leaves each.

Fry Aim: I am hoping to get some Black Orchids showing in the fry, and as far as tail types go Halfsuns would be lovely! Altough a mixture of Halfmoons and Crowntails will be fab too!

Atm, i am condtioning them with Hikari Betta Bio-Gold and Frozen Bloodworm, which they are getting 3 times a day.

Tizzy already has vertical breeding stripes and Gambit is busy per-fecting his nest.

Tank (bigger section is the spawning side) Each side has there own filter. But both sides are the same temp of 28C (abit messy, sorry) Oh and the *stuff* at the bottom of the tank is bits of sand, not dirt. lol

Congratulations. do you have somewhere to put gambit if he tries to eat the fry?

Eggs... Eggs... even more eggs!!!

Yesterday Tizzy escaped the divider, and i noticed after they had there aggressive meeting!
I placed her in the chimney and she was about to pop. His nest was massive.

I released her from the chimney in the morning 10ish, and they finished wrapping a few minutes ago.

And Whoila.... approx. 40 eggs and counting, he is picking up more from the floor that he missed before
