Gab99S Tanks

no comments? wow tough crowd

I doubt the DIY CO2 will make much difference in a tank that large. Any infected, dieing leaves should be removed.
Nice Clowns.

Nice tanks!

Btw those swords are gonna get massive in that! Will look really good!

:good:
thanks :)

i aggree the "diffuser" acts like a big bubble maze and that barely works as the bubbles get trapped :/
im thinking of returning it but idk how else to put CO2 in the tank.... maybe exhaling through a tube connected to a diffuser

and thanks for the clown comment lol they deserve it

Well, how much light is over the tank? Depending on the result, you may not need to inject CO2. You could get away with dosing liquid carbon. All depends on lighting.

its stock lighting, ill get the actual results tomorrow as its very late here.

lets see it says:

f15 T8 18" natural daylight bulbs...

And you have two of them?
They would be 15W each. A total of 30W over a 55gallon. Short answer..you don't need CO2. Feel free to dose liquid carbon though.
Or dont dose the liquid carbon, simply remove unhealthhy leaves/plants, add loads of plants to the tank (75% coverage), add more fish and only dose trace elements once a week or so (observe and adjust if needed). And best of all, DON'T do water changes. Tap water contains higher levels of dissolved CO2 than the water in your tank. Doing a water change would change the equilibrium, causing unstablilty which the plants hate, but algae loves. If you still want to do water changes, then before you do, make sure you gas off alot of the CO2 by having the tap water in a bucket and running an airstone for few hours.

yes i have 2
wow, really? i guess i can return that CO2 thing (which i recomend for cheapy cheapy setups it works great)
which gives me more money to get my cories and sharks ( and "leafs" lol), liquid carbon, and trace elements (KENT ok?)
wow lol this is really good news thanks.

anyways, heres the first test results of the tank!

ph-6.4
ammo-0
NO2- 0
NO3- 0

although, most of my argentinians have shown tons of growth, but one of the leaves has a brown outlining, whats the cause if anyone knows?? and my chain swords are being semi-uprooted (shows roots but not floating around or anything) by my devilish catfish, wouldthey be ok like that or should i plant them better? pics on mondays that way i can remember lol

Wow what a journey pretty fantastic you were able to get them across that makes you very cool go to those lengths in my eyes :good: The FW tank looks fantastic I NEED to get me some of those Argentinian Swords, just what Im looking for to break up a bit of my scape, whether or not my Sev will let me keep them is an other issue  Your fish look in really good shape as well, the rainbows have got their colour back really nice. Do you have Bosmani and Dwarf Neon? You should get a female Nicaraguan all that yellow and blue in a tank would look awesome.

hmm she could replace the spot i had reserved for the choccy.... ill have to do some research but if she doesnt get that big (8"max) ill cosider getting one...

lol im just super attached to them lol thats why i begged and begged to be able to take them with me lol. :fish:

and thanks for the compliment, means alot coming from you :good:

right now im feeding them a strawberry, they're all hiding behind the castle except for the oto lol hes pigging out.

ill keep that CO2 thing running till i visit the lfs that the girl recomended me, if they have some of the stuff im looking for ill definatley return the thing and get me some Sterbais and maybe more plants, i think im missing the ludwigia, melon swords, and.... dwarf baby tears lol, how much do you think is should get of each??. ill post a doc of what i want it to look like eventually and have you guys decide, im ???? when it comes to plant scapes lol.

wills that fish is awseome, based on your fish whats the lowest they can go ph wise? my guys have to stay at 6.5/6.4 because of the eventual leaf fish, i dont want to keep such a beauty unless i know imnot doing no harm to her :/

and yeah i do have bosies and neon rainbows but the neons im thinking of giving them a species 20 gal low tech plant so i dont take any chances with them (2-3") and the leaf fishes mouth (3")

ill take some pics at night so that way theres no window glare, and im going to the store tomorrow maybe so well see, that and i cant find the reciet :X lol do you think petco will take it back without one?

anyone have an idea about the brown outlining on one of the leaves??

and heres what i think will happen, ill call this my default. what do you think??

color code:
red triangles- ludwigia
not allowed signs- melon swords
big green circles- amazons
donuts- argentinians
black octogon- stone
tan diamonds/squares- statues
gold block- ruin
greenish arc- chain swords
big green shape- dwarf baby tears
gray- sand :D

Hi yeah afraid that is a bit too low minimum is usually 7.5 and its quite important to them as in water under 8 they develop a dent in their forehead and the lower the Ph makes it worse. If you want some other cichlids for the tank I could probs think of a few options for you?

I want to swap my turq rainbows for some dwarf neons but no one wants them :(
