I just brought myself two 6month old fluval u4 internal filters and one Eheim External 2213 ...wilst we were cleaning it took out impeller on the eheim and we managed to break the shaft that the impeller slides down on, guys please help any ideas..???

bodge it super glue or find something simular that may work or if you want it as new try email fuvel for a spare part

I did the same to mine, there very easy to break cos there made out of ceramic,i went on the eheim website found the parts list for my filter which will give you a part number then put the number in ebay and got one for £3 delivered next day came with rubber bearings aswell, very easy to change, just slide the the impellor shaft through the impellor and put a rubber bearing on each end then pop it back in its housing

i take it half of the old shaft is still in if so carnt you get a cotton wool bud add a little superglue to the end wait till nearly set attach to the bottom broken shaft leave for a while and then just pull the cotton bud out and hey presto it should remove the other broken half

correct, half in and half out,ive tried using persition screwdrivers but im heavy handed and worried i will fluff it for good, should i try n break the other half of the rod?

 as you can see i have been busy busy, just got round to it, removed the part which i was worried about, went medi evil on it, :shout:

So now i shall look about ordering a new part, so next installment follows, prob around may :shifty:
