Funny Behavior

Hi

I just witnessed an odd thing one of my yellow Labs where doing to my morrii. It lookes like he is eating something of the site of the morrii near his gills. The morrii dont seem to mind. I looked at the morrii to see if he is injured or something like that but he seems to be ok. I seen this in my brackish tank before and someone said something about the fish is eating some kind of bacteria of the other fish !!!! I never have seen this in my Malawi Tank.
I do a waterchange every week and the fish seem to be in good health. There is a lot of breeding going on in the tank at the moment.

Does anyone know what it is or means ?

It might be unswallowed food that your Lab is sensing and trying to scavenge through the gill opening?

As crazy as it sound i have seen my malawis do it once.
