Twins are genetic so the children that are twins, will usually give birth to twins as well. It's one of the things they do on farms is keep any livestock that produce twins because you get twice as many young from the adults.

Australian burrowing frogs can hold onto pee for years and produce a cocoon made out of their own skin. Every month or so they shed a thin layer of skin and it joins the rest of the shed skins in protecting the fogs while they hibernate underground. Then when it rains, the rain softens up the cocoon skin and the frogs rip it open, crawl out and eat the shed skins that were protecting them.

Cos its flippin' cold in Alaska most of the year, so you can't blame it for not wanting to hop off to the nearest outside loo ;)
Yah it's a hibernation thing. There are even frogs in the Tundra which will hibernate by slowing all their organs and internal systems down to a very very slow pace
