If they just asked they would get no where though. Without the threat of strike action they would just be ignored. They haven't actually done anything wrong as of yet, its the government that has caused all the commotion.

They DO have the right to strike they are not striking over pay it is over health and safety conditions.

20,000 is comfortable to live on? Yeh right.

Well pay has been frozen in alot of instances but inflation had been at 5%. So in effect alot of people have had a pay cut.

Most time people just want a pay rise in line with inflation.
