Fry

well your doing all the right things then, just keep doing what your doing and good luck.

Can anyone help? When I feed the liquifry 1 and baby brine shrimp it as just seams to sink to the bottom in a big blob! What am I doing wrong ?

The fry only appear willing to feed at the surface - therefore the only thing that gets their attention is liquifry no. 3 (Powdered flake)

I'm worried they are not growing at all?? Having said that I don't appear to have lost any. Am I being over concerned and expecting too much too soon?!

Never tried liquifry #3 but if it's a flake then sure they will not eat it at first, perhaps in 10-15 day they may though.

As for being worried about them growing, they will not grow very fast at first, untill they have devloped enough to feed propley, as currently they have poor mouth parts and it take a few days for them to develop enough to feed propley.

As for finding the food, if the shrimp is swimming around then the fry will feed on them.

As for being over concerned then i think thats a good thing. Just dont wory too much ;)

They are all doing just fine so far - touch wood!

I can now see their bellies change colour when they have eaten!

It's a week now since they were stuck to the glass

That picture looks very similar to the 2 fry I found about 2 weeks ago. They are both growing in a breeding net now and look like the photo :) I'm certain they are leopard danio fry. They've survived about 3 weeks now I think, so fingers crossed they'll mature!

Congrats on the fry!

boonc: that good news

DevUK: That great, so u breed fish befor?

Just an update to let you know all is well with the fry - some seem to be developing quicker than others - I have probably lost about 4 out of the 40 odd so I am guessing this rate of loss is about normal??

Just another update for for all - the fry are about 3 weeks old now and they are starting to develop fins etc. It is also possible to see then eating and pooing!

I still have around 30 fry - gonna be far too many for my little 12 litre fry tank! What can I do other than frequent cleaning and water changes?
