Whilst vaccing my gravel tonight I have sucked up around 50 fry into my bucket .

They are incredibly small - i only have mollies and danio's which are they?

They are now in a small separate tank - I need to get a heater - they are in living room - left house heating on tonight

I'm not quite positive what question you're asking. Whether it's what fry are or which they are from. So, I'll answer both. Fry are baby live bearer fish. They are most likely from the mollies since they are the live bearers in your tank. The danios could have laid eggs of course but that's highly unlikely since they need special conditions to reproduce and the fish in your tank would eat a great deal of eggs very quickly.

You should look up molly fry care on Google or something like that to find out special conditions they need if you plan on keeping them. Usually they need very small live foods (like shrimp or worms) but I'm not positive on this since I've never actually raised Molly fry.

Hope this info helps. :)

Most fry when first born are very lazy, so yes and no, they might be sick or stressed. The best way to tell is that baby mollies already have color, so if they do, then they are baby mollies.

molly fry are quite big 3-4mm and will have some colour
danio fry are iny and clear, and the first 24-36 hours they will hang on the sides till they become free swimming.

So it could be danio fry if their hanging, these are relativly east to spwan and quite hard to rear the fry, so u may want to get some liqufry #1 to try to feed then from day 4 on wards as they use up the yolk sac.

They don't appear to have any colouration - just dark near their eyes and clear tails.

They are all either hanging on the side or sitting on the bottom - only 1 is swimming around.

I have put a couple of drops of liquifry in the tank.

What would be the optimum temperature to set?

Thanks for your help.

danio fry then.

Dont feed till their swimming for 24 hours or so, you should see a little orange yolk sac, they do not feed till thats used to.
Temp same as main tank 74-78f

I can't see a yolk sack??

I am worried now as they are in a tank that I had to set-up quick last night - no filter or heater yet!

I am going to get a filter and heater today - any suggestions on how to establish the tank quickly??

I have left house heating on 24 today to keep them warm.

I will change some water later today and install the filter.

At least they made it through the night!

Get a simple air powered sponge filter and only set it to gentile. you dont need anything to major for them.

With established sponge filter they aslo have microscopic foods growing on them so they can help to feed young fish as well.

As for the yolk sac their ting as it is, it should look like a slightly orange bump on the tummy once flat thats the yolk finished, what you want to aim for is to keep that round look to the bellow to rear the fry.

Egg layer fry are much more difficult to rear but much more rewarding in the end. Zebra Danios are a nice beginner egg layer, so I wish you good luck with them :).

They don't seem to be eating ?

I am feeding liquifry1 and baby brine shrimp.

Don't seem to have lost too many but how do i know if they are eating / are ok??

Newly hatched brine shrimp is the best food as you'll see the stomach turn orange showing when they feed fine.

How old are the fry now (from first finding the hanging on the glass?)

2-3 days? if so they they may be a little early but keep the food going as they will soon start eating it.
also do small water changes if possible each day as these foods can be quite polluting.

Yeah it's around 3 days since they were hanging on the sides.

Difficult to really tell if they have grown at all.

I'm changing 25% water each day and also trying to suck up any crud off the bottom.

Temperature is a steady 76 deg C

Fry mostly appear quite active
