:/ Alright here is the Facts....I Have a 5 Gallon tank with probally 200 fry in

it........SwordTails, BaloonBelly Mollies, White Mollies, Fancy Guppys, and

Chichlids. I feed them crushed up flake 3 times a day and do water changes once

a week or once every 2 weeks.

I have NEVER lost a fry but I wanted to know if there are any more things I could

do just to make them healthier and grow faster. Are there any other Food options?

There is nothing in the tank at the moment but Should I have Plants? A Larger

tank is out of the picture and I have been raising fry for over a year now. I would

Really appreate some tips on improving my 'Raising Fry' skillls and Everything can

Help! ~Scarlett

you may want to seperate the cichlid babies from the livebearer fry, beacause the cichlid fry may grow larger and you'll come home one day to a tank full of fat cichlids!!

When my fry are a few weeks old I feed them frozen daphnia. Its tiny and perfect to fit in their little mouths.

After that other frozen live food like blood worm and brine shrimp can be mushed up for them, until they are big enough to eat it whole.

Putting some plants in the tank would help give them places to hide so they feel more secure, and also help stop bulling as some fry grow bigger than others. Also livebearers like to nible on plants and the algae that grows on the leaves so that would be a good supply of food for any that get hungry or outcompeted at feeding time.

Thanks Guys, I just did seperate teh Chichlid babies and I am thinkign about getting some Live plants!

i start my fry out with frozen baby brine shrimp and they seem to grow fast and healthy. good luck. thats a quite brood there.
