Not sure what they mean by day 3 - day 3 after hatching or day 3 after free swimming? Probably the former which would indicate that pretty much as soon as free swimming they can take this.

I do know some breeders who use this. They grind it up even more before putting it in the tank though and will feed fry on this up to a month in age.

Personally I'm not a fan but maybe because I'm a bit more traditional in my methods of raising fry. My own preference is to have plants in the breeding tank and use liquifry no. 1 once yolk sacks absorbed (about 2 - 3 days after hatching) as this encourages infusoria. When about 4 days old I start to introduce brine shrimp, banana worm and microworms into their diet. After a month I then start introducing chopped tubifex and growth surges at this point.

One thing you'll notice is that these are all live foods. In my opinion, fry react instinctively to food items and unless it's wriggling they are less prone to eat it. They can be weaned onto pellets, flake etc. when they are older and have built up larger fat reserves. For info, I introduce betta pro after about 1.5 months.

However, this doesn't mean I'm right - just giving you my methods. Maybe you could try the starter food on one brood and see how you get on and form your own views.

yep i do
liquid fry from hatching for 1 week with lots o live plants
then bbs & liquid
then bbs & daphnia
then bbs daphnia and bs
then daphnia bs and choped blood worm
then bs blood worm choped and crushed betta pro
then crushed betta pro with blood worm treats
on tp normal baby pelets of betta pro

if u use betta starteer from the start, make sure u grine it up or it can still be too big for them to eat.

I've heard people use it with great success, but I haven't had any luck using it with my wild spawn.

I would just use infusoria until day 3 and have some backup food (microworms, brine shrimp starting at week 1) just in case
