We just added a small Black Ghost Knife to our 25 gallon tank and a Pictus Catfish. There are currently some Neons, Glass Fish & Danios in there. With the flake food, those guys take care of most of the stuff, so the LFS recommended some frozen Blood Worms for the cat & Black Ghost.

They are the small cubes and my question is, how often do I put one of those cubes in (assuming I only use one). I have been holding it under the water and rubbing it alittle to thaw out and break up the worms and the fish like it.

But since I still give them a pinch of flakes in the am, I don't want to overfeed.

I dip out a little tank water in a plastic cup and then let the cube disolve in it. Then I just pour it in. Blood worms are very high in protein which means they are also difficult for fish to digest. I wouldn't feed them too often, maybe a couple times a week. You may as well figure on your other fish getting quite a bit of those too though, not just the knife and cat.

Sounds like good advice! Not knowing too much about the Black Ghost, will he eat some of the flakes that fall to the bottom? I know (and see it) that he is a nocturnal guy, but I'm afraid the other fish eat all the food before he comes out.

I do the same thing except I usually feed with tweezers, only because I split the cube among several tanks, so a pinch her and a pinch there. ;)

One question though, doesn't a black ghost knife get muchto large for a 25 gallon tank? I've always wanted one, but from what I've read they need a 55-gallon tank or larger and can grow up to 18"!!!

Yes, they get too big for a tank twice that size. An average 25 Gallon is around 2 feet long, a fully grown GBK can get to 20 inches+...

I'm hoping to take delivery of a 75 gal next week, then set it up and start cycling it.
