Anways guys just a quick update.

The cabbage leather coral, the medusa coral, the toadstool at the back left and the small bubble coral at the front centre have all been sold off along with 2 of the fungai plate coral frags due to a bit of wheeling and dealing elsewhere

And what better way to spend the cash I gained than on getting a few other corals

So here are the few bits I have bought but the pics are taken by the seller who I'm sure wont mind me using the images as his photography skills are a bit better than mine.

I'm sorry i have not had chance to update in a while but there have been a few changes. so here is a quick summary:

I have upgraded my skimmer from a MCe300 to a MCE600 due to havnig a large bioload.

Also I have still been struggling with the cyano i have on the sand bed so have had to cut my lighting down to only 5hrs a day for the MH and an extra half hour either side for the actinics! this seems to have slowed the cyano down quite abit so i am hoping i am winning the battle against it!

I have also swapped my red head fairy wrasse for a flame angel which is an awsome little fish with loads of charactor and more or less reef safe... other than the fact it took a great liking to my trachy and kept nipping at it causing it to be constantly closed... this led me having to make the choise of keeping the angel and getting rid of the trachy. also I have swapped my multi-colour lobo for some acans so that should be gone in the next day or two.

Hmmm i think that is about iot for now but i will be uploading some pics soon although they are not the best quality...

well the top centre of the tank has been left for sps so think that is the way forward for now. and I am also looking to buy a bright blue maxima clam but i have put all buying on livestock on hold for the time being as i am looking to move into a new flat at the end of this month with plans of upgrading to a Betta 1000 tank which i am currently in the process of aquiring! When bought and set-up this should give me almost double capacity in comparisson to my current rio 180 so the the wish list will be re-wrote and upgraded also

I'm curious to know which HOB refugium you guys use, if you still use these. Also, do you know if all HOB refugiums sit level with the back of the tank? I want to get one but I don't want it to be highly visible from the front of my tank (my tank sits against a wall) One more thing. How did the miracle mud prove to work out for you? Thanks for any responses!

Hi mate i am assuming you are reffering your questions to me although my member/screen name is '1entra' and not 'fishaddict' lol I am using a HOB refugium that i bought off ebay on both of my tanks and it seems to have worked well for me although neither of my tanks are up against the wall so cant really comment on how visible it would be. however you would have to leave a gap away from the wall depending on the depth of the fuge.

As far as miracle mud goes mate I cant honestly comment on how much of a difference it actually makes. as the tank in this thread does not have mud in the fige yet it is doing really well. the tank in my bedroom however does have mud and it also has been doing well in the 3+years it has been set up. i have heard however that you are supposed to change the mud every year or so although the one in my fuge has been there almost 3years and i have not seen any adverse effects which makes me think if it actaully did anything in the first place!!!!

Anyways hope the info is of some use to you and as Seffie has already mentioned if you post in the hardware or help and advice section I ma sure you will be able to receive more help and advice from others users and their experiences.
