as for your friend's dad, it's stupid that he won't let anyone else touch the tank when he's doing such a bad job of it himself...but some people are like that.

I'm not sure what you can do to help someone who doesn't want to be helped. Maybe if the fish start dying, your friend can (choose her moment! and) suggest to her dad that you know some stuff about tanks and would be willing to help for free?

Well hopefully she will talk to her dad. I'll keep asking her about it and I will not let it drop. I see the tank nearly everyday because we take turns to drive to uni.
Its soooo cute (gourami) Its a metallic blue colour with red round the fins. Cute wee face. The plec could be a corker too if only it was in a big tank.

Gourami are my favorite fish. If I didn't have any fish in my previous 10 gal, I would have made my 30 gal an all gourami tank. But I chose to make it a community so the fish in the 10 gal would have more room and be much happier.

I agree,how old if your friend anyways?Her dad is being dumb if he can`t find a time to save fish.And flushing the fish is just cruel,if they`d really do it.
