my results were:
NO3-40ppm
NO2-0ppm
pH-6-6.5
KH-0ppm
GH-30ppm

I last cleaned and completed a water change 2 days ago (50%)

Any feedback on how to improve water quality?

what's the ammonia reading?

check your tap water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. If your tap water has high nitrates you will need to get rid of that before doing water changes.

I cant test for ammonia but my nitrites are 0ppm
Nitrates-0ppm
pH-6.0

You want to keep the nitrates (NO3) as close to 0ppm as possible and below 20ppm at all time.

The easiest way to keep the nitrates down is by doing a 75% water change and gravel clean once a week or more frequently if the level goes up quickly.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.
