My partners father came home from a visit to a LFS and said to me he saw a freshwater clown fish or a fresh water fish that looked like a clown fish (yellowy) colour now I was just wondering what on earth had he found?

The only one I can think of is a bumble bee goby. Doesn't really look too much like a clown fish though.

oh thanks :) ...... he really wants Nemo's and I have a 3 foot tank but I explained to him that I cant put nemo's in there coz its a freshwater set up and one day he came back from the LFS excited that freshwater nemos existed and I would hte to burst his bubble lol

I once heard of someone having SW clowns in a freshwater setup and one has been alive for a year. But the person started out with a group...But no, I have never heard of FW clowns.

nope, no such thing as a freshwater clownfish, unless he is talking about clown loaches.
a 3ft tank would be ok for a pr of nemos (Amphiprion ocellaris). Maybe get him a setup for his birthday

One expensive Birthday present :p....Lucky him XD.

My sig has BBG....

3 ft is plenty, that is about 40gallons right? You can probably have a group of ocellaris in there, make sure they were in a group at your lfs though, or else you get more than 1 male or female. Itll probably cost about 200 bucks to set that badboy up, but you can turn that into a reef tank too.

my 3 ft tank had a chiclid set up in their at them moment and I will be setting up a 6ft for my discus so prob wont be able to afford to get into doing a saltwater set up :) plus my bolivians are breeding so i have my hands full at the moment lol :)

maybe it was a clown loach or a bumble bee goby he saw I will have to do some more investigating :) I will ask him which LFS he went into and I'll pay them a visit :) I will let you now my findings.

Thanks guys :)
