The forum seems to have really slowed down recently (ie. less posts). I was wondering if it's just me or if anyone else has noticed this?

yuh i was thinking the same thing....
i know i disapeared a few weeks i was bedridden with flu!
but im back with my fingers attached to my keyboard and waiting for answers on here

I know a few are not here much because of being made to feel somewhat unwelcome. They got too many "attitudes" on their threads... so they quit. I have slowed way down for the same reason. I used to be on here several times a day every day. Sometimes all day...
Now I just check in on a few things and leave. I hope it gets better soon. I really miss being on here more. I just don't like that some people just refuse to be nice. I can't stop them... so I just leave when I run into it. That has happened a lot in the last 2 months! There are a lot of days that I don't even bother to check in now. I just don't feel up to it.
For some, being nice is a way of life. When people are harsh it bothers us. We can't help it. Some days are better than others, so I only come here on good days now. (I found myself getting more harsh, and I didn't like it.)

Yes... there is a lot less traffic. Especially some of the ones that have been here a while...

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, Ice Girl. Hope you get back into the swing of things soon. It would be a real shame to let a few members spoil a great forum for you.

Hope to see you around soon (not really see you, you know what i mean).

Are the mods aware that there are several people not using the forum for that reason? Is there nothing that can be done?

Seems a real shame to let the members drift away for something like that?

I'm coming up with 12-14 pages of posts in 24 hours, pretty consistently over the last couple of weeks. Ten or under is slower, busy days are 16+. It tends to get slower in the summer, people don't want to be stuck inside when it's nice out. It tends to be busier in the dead of winter, especially after the holidays.

As always, if someone is posting in a manner you think is inappropriate, hit the report button.

I left for several months due to cliches and bad attitudes but I'm ready to try again. This is my first post in a few months. I've been reading periodically just not posting but my opinion it hasn't been any less busy than before but like tolak said this isn't a really busy time. It will get busy again in january probably after people start running into problems with their new tanks from christmas.

I think that overall it is a little bit less traffice than when I first joined in '04, but, I think it's the holiday season right now. Don't forget that it is also finals in school soon. Traffic drops but as Tolak says, it picks up on the cold lonely nights of winter after the holidays. SH

I did disappear for a while but that was for different reasons but before i went i did notice that peoples attitudes towards others were pretty bad. I've not been a member that long but for a couple of months people were getting flamed left right and centre. I found quite a bit of it was in the newbies section, which is terrible. I would hate if i wanted some honest advice about keeping fish and then all i got was some idiot having a go at me about not fishless cycling and using some treatment to aid cycling. I, personally think this is a reason why people don't post or join.

I think the main reason I think there is less traffic is because the people that I am accustomed to talking to aren't here much any more. I mostly just see new people.
I miss the old folks! I hope they come back more soon. (Nothing against the new folks) I miss my friends. I do talk to a few in other places, but it just isn't the same.

I have only reported a post once, and it was only to see if it was bad advice or if I was doing something wrong. I found out I was wrong. I fixed mine and went on. I try not to cause any kind of problem if there is a way around it. I was raised to believe that if you can't be nice you should be quiet. I do that when ever possible. (It gets away from me sometimes though...) I can't report someone for just hurting my feelings. I would feel stupid. I just try to avoid the situations when I can, and I find other things to do when it gets to me.

Hopefully it will get better soon.

yeah I joined about three years ago and alot of the people that were on then aren't on now, but still seems a busy site, I have noticed the cichlid forum isn't as busy as it was before. If someone gives you attitude just ignore it, best way IMO.

I always pop on everyday to browse around, and make the odd post . It the best site I have ever found, so I wouldn't want to leave.
