I have a Michaels close by. It's a big craft store. They have their spring silks on sale 50%. I got a ton of stuff to put in the 55 gallon and paid less than $20.
They also had the colored "river rocks" on sale for .88, but I passed on those.

Much cheaper than the fish stores! YAY! :D

Ive used them. The only problem Ive encountered is when I bought suction cups to attach them to the back wall, the cups rusted. The plants themselves are great though.

I would still be cautious in using it. They may appear safe, but if they slowly leak out some toxic chemicals. So even for a few days or weeks of using it, they may appear to be ok to use, but something may happen to the fish. Being in the tanks for so long, you may assume that the plants are the problems.

Also, if you have rasping fish, like pl*cos, they may suck on them, which could be toxic as well.
