Didn't see him eat them......I bought 30 goldfish....gave 8 to him and put the rest in the 90 for the cichlids.....the other 22 were gone in minutes...lol! 
With the piranha though, we watched for a while...never ate any and then came back 2 hours later and they were all gone!
