Hi all,
I am in the process of setting up a new 160 litre tank (fishless cycling). I was wondering whether my existing Fluval U2 filter will be man enough for the job? My tank will be quite heavily planted and will be home to "smaller" fish e.g guppies, chilli rasboras, galaxy rasboras (celestial pearl danios? I can't keep up!) Normans lampeyes
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The U2 is designed for up to 30 gallons ( 114 liters ) you will need additional filtration for a tank of that size

Unfortunatly not.

I have a Fluval U2 in my Fluva Roma 90 tank and i am switching to an external.

My advice would be to research external filters. They would be much better for your tank/fishies with a higher filtration rate per hour and they are a lot easier to clean (no more having to put your hand in the water to remove the internal filter)

Plus, removing the internal filter will give you more space in your tank!

I kinda regret buying my U2 now since I originally wanted it for if my tank would only be half full of water I wouldn't hear the water running like a over the back filter. For just a 20-30 gallon filter, it was bloody expensive :<

Thanks for all the responses - a definite no!

Turns out I had 2 Marina Slim S20's that came with my tank (Ebay purchase), which the seller didnt even mention, they were squirreled away in a carrier bag. Problem solved I guess!
