Right guys, this is top secret (no one contact my husband!) and extremely hypothetical BUT say there was a Fluval Roma 200 going cheap near where I live...is it completely ridiculous for me to get it?

I only want one tank and I have a betta/corys/rasboras. Is that a stupid stocking to start from for a tank this size? Will my betta get lost? What else would I stock it with?

I wouldn't normally consider a tank this size but the bargain factor is tempting me and if I can stock it nicely, then why not!?

Thank for the help!

Do it! I regret not getting a bigger tank if i had the chance now i would do it you can also change your stocking in the future if your taste changes. There are many fish that you can keep with bettas. What sort of temprament does he have?

Edit:
Your betta would not get lost he would probably love having so much space also then you can up your number of corydoras.

He's a pretty good boy really - he is a little pushy with his tank mates (mostly around dinner time) but they all just ignore him lol and he never follows his threats up with anything. I think it's a case of bark being bigger than bite!

Do it! If it's going cheap you'd be a fool not to. It would be an investment - they don't really lose their value and you could always sell it on in future.
Think how relaxing it will be to watch, and he will surely get enjoyment out of it too...

(If you want I can come up with more excuses for you, having played this game myself!

LMAO love it! You are goooood sadguppy haha!

Ok so, if it were your tank, what would you put in it with a betta?

i personally love endlers some people dont :p most peaceful fish work as long as there is no nippy fish such as barbs or small groups of tetras, i think someone actually posted a compatibility topic ill see if i can find it

Get it does :hyper: If not, you'll regret it afterwards ;)

Cheers, I do really like endlers actually, lovely colours! I know the compatibility list well :) I was thinking more along the lines of if there were any other, non-schooling fish? But I'm going to have a look at the list again as I've never paid attention to any of the non-schoolers on it before as it didn't apply to me! I think there are a couple on there...

ok :) i know that a lot of people i know keep bristlenose plecos with theres and platys seem popular

Next time maybe you should just link to the thread......

Do it!!!! I wish I could but not with my dad :( but you need to do it!!!

I dunno why but I don't want to do livebearers for some reason, can't put my finger on why as they are really pretty fish! Seems like endlers are the only livebearers I'm attracted to

Honey gouramis are on the sometimes compatible list :/ Just trying to consider all options really. In reality I love a nice big school of fish so when it comes down to it I'll have no problem filling the tank - brain storming is fun :p

I better not get too excited though because the auction still has two days on it but it's at .99 now with no reserve...

I know what you mean about livebearers i love my endlers and guppies though :D

Yeah gouramis are a bit hit and miss, my females get along with them fine and my friend has 6 with his male betta, but i have heard some horror stories :p
