i ve just had my tank cycled over a month now and it has fish in my water is getting a little misty, my external pump is a fluval 205 when i got it it had two bags off carbon in i took them out because people said when i was cycling my tank it would take out goodness in the water if i put the bags back in would it cleaner the water better or not and would i have any trouble with my water if i added them

sounds like it may be an algea bloom ? but adding the carbon will improve water quality but will also remove any treatments added.
dont get me wrong it is good stuff but i choose not to use it as i have lots of bogwood in my tank and it removes the tea colour stain from my water and i and my fish prefer the darker water.

????????/

i would go for 10 hours a day max of lighting.
i had an algea bloom that lasted for months and got rid of it by adding floating plants im not sure if it was lower lighting or more nutrients being used by the plants or both.
i never really found out what caused it

What are your actual water test results - ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte? What is your waterchange regime?
