Fluidised Sand Bed Filters

Are you suggesting to take a pipe straight form tank into pump then into FSB? If so then surely my FSB is going to become clogged after a while with muck the pump picks up. Although I can think of how to make a inline filter stuffed with poly wool.

BUT....

the build did get on it's way today until I realised I left my adheseal round a mates so I can't seal the end on yet.

I'ved cut 3 circles to form the bottom end plug which I'll seal in with the Adheseal. I'ved got a threaded top cap on the way to make the top of the FSB. With the threaded top cap I can easily open it up and play about with the sand inside.

So I think thats the biological side of things sorted on the 10ft.

I'll go ahead and build the DIY one so I can move it around from tank to tank when ever i need a tank set up and running quickly.
