Hi

My silly cory stuck himself in the flowerpot hole!!!!!! :X of all the places in the tank he had to get stuck in that!!!!!

Poor thing thought he was begin eaten by a large fish, so he stuck his spines out and that made it worse as i couldn't free him myself!!!! :S

At first i thought oh know he's dead as he wasn't moving but then he winked at me!!!! and i thought yo he's alive :fun: :fun:

As i didn't know how to free him myself, i popped him in an ice- cream tub and drove down the fishshop 20 miles an hours, minding the bumps and pot-holes along the way

The guy there said 'what had i done' i explained and i said 'just get him out he's dying!!!!!

5 mins later he was free!!!! and still alive.

He's got a few battle wounds to show off to his mates now when he joins them in the tank

It shocked me to hell and back, because he was stiff in the plant pot i thought he had passed on to catfish heaven.

Phew i can calm down now!!!!!

Sorry if i was ranting but just had to tell someone!!!!

maybe you should make the hole in the bottem bigger so they can't get stuck again (don't ask me how to do this though).
yes this is a good idea or you could plug the hole with a wine cork

i have tilted the flowerpots slightly and buried the holes in the gravel. I will save somes corks, just get my dad to drink more wine

thats something to think about! i've got flower pots in all my tanks ,but i thought the holes to small for any problems, just goes to show.i think i'll do take a leaf out of your book bigfish and bury the holes! :) pebbles

I would pebbles as i don't want anyone else to experience what my poor cory went through.

Glad to hear the lil guy is ok. :)

There's a way to break the bottom out, but it is a bit tricky sometimes.

Set it right side up and then with a straight screwdriver and hammer, tap it along the edge of the bottom and work your way around. Works really good once you get the hang of it.

Don't put a wine cork in there (unless its one of the plastic ones) it'll just rot and cause no end of problems in your tank.
